I Was Right!
Dear Patients & Friends,
There's nothing more fun than being able to say, "I told you so!" It's even more fun to rub it in when the "latest research" proves you to be so smart.
And, it's even more cool to boast and be outrageous when you're not offending anyone in particular. The reason why I'm adding this part is because when I was a kid growing up in Nu Yawk, if you were bragging and you were offending someone, you would have to be:

1) emotionally intimidating and physically stronger than the other person
2) a really fast runner who knew all of the best escape routes
3) a great big baby and be able to fake crying on the spot and pray that you picked a very nice person to make fun of, and who would not hurt you (unless you made their mommy wrong)
Without getting too deep into which kind of dude I was back in the day, let's just say I'm cool with weeping.
Enough Already About Your Past, What Are You Right About?
Yesterday, one of my patients showed me the main health article in the San Francisco Chronicle called, "New Guidelines" (page A14). It states," It used to be thought that aerobic activity had to be done for at least 10 minutes. Now, even short periods are known to help." Here's the part of the article I'm boasting about: "Even a single episode of activity gives short term benefits such as lowering blood pressure, reducing anxiety and improving sleep."
DUH!!!!!
Did I really need a preventative medicine expert at Northwestern University to tell me that??? Do you???!!!
I've been giving all of you that kind of "wisdom" (read "primate common sense") since 1985. There, I boasted and it feels great, especially because I don't have to get teary eyes about this in front of you.
As I have been telling you at the free Vital Living Workshop (stretch class) that most of you have attended, even one minute a day of any exercise or meditation is way better than no minutes.
Therefore, even when you think you are too busy to become healthier, just do something in that moment which helps you improve your well-being. Over a period of a few months, you will notice a benefit to your health.
How to Have More Energy and More Calmness
Every month I teach the 2 hour Yoga & Meditation intensive here at the office. I've been telling you about the benefits of this special class for many years and I've included dozens of testimonials from patients and their friends to encourage you to attend.
In this class I always teach simple energizing AND calming techniques that literally take no more than 20 - 30 seconds to do - anywhere and anytime (except when you are boasting to the wrong people and you need to get running - or crying).
This class is great for both beginners and the most advanced practitioners. I have been teaching Wellness for 35 years and I know how to include "something for everyone."
The last two intensives for 2018 are on Tuesday, November, 20, and Tuesday, December, 18. As you have possibly seen in previous emails, the class often sells out, so whether you are a first timer or a repeater, please register in advance to guarantee your place.

I hope to see you there!

Operation T Day- You Are Invited
On Thanksgiving Day, the non-profit I founded, Young Men's Ultimate Weekend, will be preparing food and then delivering the food to the homeless. We've been doing this work for many years and it's awesome being with lots of people - just like you - who care about the welfare of people who do not have as much food as we do.
Every year, we take about two hours to put together food containers which then get delivered by other volunteers to people in San Francisco. I love going and meeting all of the cool people and families who show up!
