Beware Of a Summer Epidemic: Dehydration
Beware Of a Summer Epidemic: Dehydration
For approximately 20 years, one of my chiropractic mentors, Dr. David Stewart, used to take me on annual challenging trips to the desert to get far away from the demands of our conventional responsibilities.
As on every 4-wheel back-country trip, I always made enough isolated time away from the very few other people who might have been nearby wherever we were camping. I did this by hiking long distances to find remote places.
It always felt Biblical for me to be able to sit in the radiant sunlight, in awe of the majestic, mystical solitude. In these safe secluded places, I could then quiet my wacky, over-active mind. I relaxed my mind by meditating, by contemplating on my spiritual perspectives, or by focusing on my personal or professional goals.
I remember once sitting on a large boulder one sunny and hot day. It was so quiet that it felt as if I was in a world where there was literally no sound. I was looking out into a vast valley that appeared to never end. I was truly in an ecstatic state.
I became aware that my euphoria was quickly ending because I was getting a headache and becoming dizzy. I realized that this was not an ideal way to be removed from my reverie.
Thankfully, I automatically remembered that my mentor taught me to carry more than enough liquid all year long, not just for the hot summer.

Within a few minutes of slowly drinking my water-fresh juice drink, I soon felt like a computer being re-booted. I could literally feel my body and mind restoring itself and preparing for full functioning.
Drink Your Way Thru This Life
Literally, all of the trillions of cells in your body (nerves, muscles, organs, skin and bones) require water. 80% of your body is water. Your nervous system, which is the master control center of your body, conducts its electrical nerve signals more efficiently to your body parts when there's enough water in your body.
Whether you are thirsty or not, the body requires a daily minimum of 64 ounces of liquid, not including coffee, alcohol or other dehydrating fluids. Not drinking liquids with meals allows for better digestion and the chance to have more energy from the food you eat.
This healthy habit will create more energy and less inflammation and pain. Just do it!
True,
Dr. Mark
Announcements
The non-profit that I founded, Young Men's Ultimate Weekend, is producing its annual rite of passage adventure camp for young men at the end of August.
I create live, educational events in order to meet parents and provide them with details about the benefits of this life-changing event for young men ages, 13-20.
The open house and the conference calls will review the principles of YMUW, the agenda of the event, what the mentors teach the young men and how to relate to young men after their graduation.
Additionally, I also provide our proven tips and techniques to help parents be more effective in their ability to communicate and motivate their teen children (boys or girls) to become more responsible for their own well-being.
Naturally, all of you are welcome to attend. If you know of anyone who would benefit from these events, please pass this information along to them.
