This Special Person Inspired Me to Be Happy, Healthy & Holy

Dear Patients and Friends,
As I hinted to you in my previous blog, Santa Cruz was a powerful motivator for me to learn how to masterfully regulate my energy in order to have great physical and mental health.
Before moving to Santa Cruz in 1974, I spent a lot of my time studying personal growth, spirituality, nutrition, and exercise in New York City. As a teenager, I knew that I wanted to be deeply content with my relationship to the world and at peace with myself before I died.
Santa Cruz was a hotbed for all of my favorite fields of research and practice that I mentioned above. One of the many wellness activities I routinely engaged in was yoga.
I was turned on to a book that has become a personal classic that inspired me to have excellent health and true happiness. The book is called, Autobiography Of a Yogi. It is about one of the first yoga teachers to ever come to America, Paramahansa Yogananda. It's considered one of the most popular spiritual books ever read.
Master Your Energy and You'll Live Longer
I loved the stories in the book about how "regular" people like you and I were able to learn how to regulate our minds and bodies in order to have abundant amounts of energy and well-being. I was profoundly touched by the wisdom of this style of yoga (Kriya Yoga).
While I consider myself a "free-range chicken" of spirituality because I like to study with a variety of teachers and teachings, this lineage of teachers has had a strong influence on me and continues to this day.
The main wisdom that I've practiced from that form of yoga is knowing how to be a master at regulating my energy levels. I know how to raise it up, how to maintain it, and how to bring it down.
Upcoming Workshop on Aging
The methods that can prolong a quality life are simple, but they do require practice. In this workshop, I'll give you tips that are easy to understand and techniques to slow down the aging process that can be done anywhere, at any time, and in just a few seconds.
On Thursday, June 21st, I'll be teaching one of my most popular workshops called, "How to Slow Your Aging Process – Older Growing with Spunk & Spirit.” In this 90-minute presentation, I'll highlight why people age prematurely and, of course, how to slow down and (when possible) how to prevent un-natural and uncomfortable aging.

Monthly Yoga & Meditation Class
There's been such a popular demand for more yoga and meditation that, starting in July, I'll be happy to start teaching a monthly class at the office. If you really want to master your skills to maintain a flexible body and a calm mind, I recommend that you attend the class every month. I absolutely love being a mentor to all of you who have been attending the class over the years, and I also look forward to teaching new people who want to study with me.
