If You Use Insurance with Our Office,
Please Read This

Dear Patients,

It's that time of year in medical offices around the world, where patients and their doctors discover what services their insurance companies actually cover, and which ones they don't. Patients also discover if their co-pay amounts have increased, even if they haven't been formally told by their insurance companies. It usually takes insurance companies approximately four -eight weeks to process. This way, if there are modifications, you won't be surprised when your doctors staff tells you that you owe them more money, or that they owe you money.

Do You Have This Insurance?

More insurance companies are switching into "managed care programs." In part, that means that they decide how much care you get for a specific condition, instead of that decision being made by you and your doctor.

That said, there are some insurance companies that our office is changing our policy regarding our relationship with them. If you have one of the insurance companies listed below, Please Click Here

to read this very important letter that I have written to you before April 15, 2019.

  • American Specialty Health Plans
  • Kaiser
  • SCAN
  • Cigna
  • Health Net
  • Blue Shield HMO
  • some Anthem Blue Cross plans as well
  • United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plans (not the plan where Medicare Part B is primary and AARP UHC are supplemental).

As always, if you don't get a chance to read this letter, we'll explain it to you when you come into the office for your next visit!

* Note: This is not how I think a private health care system should work. I think there should be a team of consultants on each claim, including the doctor, the patient, the insurance health care provider representative and any other specialists needed.

True,
Dr. Mark
